Should we do a first look?

Thinking about a first look?

Wait, Leah, what's a first look?

Ok, so a first look is when you see your partner before the ceremony. This is so you can capture a private moment with each other before all of your guests see you.

Let’s do a pros and cons list:

Pros:

I like this because you can get all of your "formal" photos out of the way before the wedding even begins. You can do your bridal party photos, immediate family and just the two of you.....

Which means.... you don't have to disappear between your ceremony and reception and you can mingle with your guests the whole time.

You can also use it as a moment to calm your nerves.

Cons:

The cons to this is you have to be ready earlier than you would if you were just going straight to the ceremony and you miss out of that first look at the end of the aisle.

There also needs to be a bit of a coordination with communicating to all family members and bridal party that this is happening BEFORE the ceremony so they need to be ready as well.

Additional ideas:

What I have seen a little more of recently is couples using this time to exchange their personal vows. This allows them to be completely just for the two of them rather than in front of guests.

But either way, your partner will still be blown away whether it's in a private or public setting.

At the end of the day, it's all up to you and this is what I absolutely LOVE. I love the flexibility and the different ways couples choose to execute their day. I am just so happy to be a part of it.
